GSDC 2026 – Global Sustainability & Development Conference

Organised by Times Higher Education, the Global Sustainable Development Congress (GSDC) 2026 was held in Jakarta, Indonesia. It convened thousands of participants from government, academia, industry, civil society, and international organisations. From exchanging ideas, building partnerships, to identifying practical pathways for achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the congress provided a global platform. Discussions focused on critical areas such as climate resilience, clean energy, sustainable urban development, circular economy, ESG, innovation, and responsible resource management. Instead of simply highlighting sustainability challenges, emphasis was put on collaborative solutions and measurable outcomes by GSDC 2026. The congress showcased how research, policy, business, and community engagement can work in unison to accelerate sustainable development, by bringing together diverse stakeholders. It underscored the need for institutions to move beyond commitments and adopt evidence-based strategies that deliver tangible environmental and social impact. The congress also marked the global launch of SustainVerse, a digital platform created to strengthen sustainability awareness and collaboration. SustainVerse seeks to make sustainability knowledge easier to understand and apply by combining credible reporting, expert perspectives, educational content, and opportunities for engagement within a single ecosystem. By connecting ideas, people, and practical solutions, the platform aims to inspire informed action and encourage collective efforts towards a more sustainable and resilient future.
